Marcos will open his Legg Mason Tennis Classic campaign on Wednesday in Washington D.C. with a second-round match against Argentine Horacio Zeballos. Zeballos earned his place in the second round with a three-set win over Michal Przysiezny on Sunday.
World No. 52 Zeballos came into Washington on a poor run of form; having won only two ATP World Tour matches since reaching the second round at Roland Garros. He enjoyed greater success on clay earlier in the season with a semi-final showing in Houston (l. to Chela) and a quarter-final effort in Buenos Aires (l. to Monaco).
The 25 year old, who reached his first ATP World Tour final in St. Petersburg last year, was voted ATP Newcomer of the Year in 2009. You can read more about Zeballos in this feature in DEUCE magazine.
Marcos has never faced Zeballos before. Their first meeting will take place second on Grandstand beginning not before 5:30pm local time (10:30pm UK, 00:30am Cyprus). Check out the full order of play here.
