The draw for The Championships, Wimbledon was made on Friday and Marcos, seeded No. 24, will open his campaign against Slovakia’s Lukas Lacko on Tuesday at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Should Marcos defeat the No. 73-ranked Lacko, he would face either Frenchman Jeremy Chardy or Spain’s Daniel Gimeno-Traver in the second round. Looking further ahead, Spain’s No. 9 seed David Ferrer is a likely third-round opponent, while Roland Garros runner-up Robin Soderling could feature in the fourth round.
Marcos is placed in the bottom quarter of the draw, also joining 2008 champion and World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, American No. 23 seed John Isner and Russian No. 13 seed Mikhail Youzhny. Defending champion Roger Federer leads the 128-man field and will open play first on Centre Court on Monday.

Marcos will be back on the mowed lawns of SW19 for the first time in two years, having been forced to miss The Championships last year due to a knee injury sustained the week before in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. It is a Grand Slam where Marcos has enjoyed much success in the past, reaching the semi-finals in 2006 and the quarter-finals a year later.
