Marcos will look to build on his quarter-final showing at the Farmers Classic in Los Angeles when he takes part in the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington D.C. next week.
Marcos is making his debut at the ATP World Tour 500 hard-court tournament and has been seeded eighth in the 48-man draw.
In his opening match, Marcos will face either Poland’s Michal Przysiezny or Argentina’s Horacio Zeballos. He is expected to face ninth-seeded Latvian Ernests Gulbis in the third round, with third-seeded Spaniard Fernando Verdasco a likely opponent in the quarter-finals.
Also featuring in the top half of the draw with Marcos are Wimbledon runner-up and top seed Tomas Berdych, American fifth seed John Isner and recent Hamburg champion Andrey Golubev. Three-time former champion Andy Roddick is seeded No. 2 in the bottom half of the draw, and is joined by No. 4 Marin Cilic, No. 6 Sam Querrey and 2004 champion Lleyton Hewitt.
