Marcos and Andy Murray were edged out in the quarter-finals of the Brisbane International by 2011 US Open champions Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner, 3-6, 6-3, 15-13. A large crowd gathered on Court 2 as the popular first-time pairing were beaten in 75 minutes.
Marcos and Murray will take to the court on opposite sides of the net on Friday when they clash in the singles quarter-finals. Marcos takes a 3-2 career lead into the clash with the World No. 4, having beaten the Scot at Wimbledon in 2006, Cincinnati in 2007 and in Rotterdam last year. Murray was victorious in their meetings at 2010 Roland Garros and 2011 Tokyo.
