Marcos was on the brink of reaching the semifinals at the Chengdu Open, but the conclusion of his match against Yen-Hsun Lu was suspended due to rain.
With Marcos leading 6-3, 5-2 15/15, rain began to fall at the ATP World Tour 250 event. He will be just three points from victory when the match resumes at 1:00pm local time on Saturday.
Should Marcos close it out, he will face Argentina's Guido Pella not before 4:00pm on Stadium Court. It would be his third semifinal of the season, having reached the last four in Auckland and on the grass of Antalya.
