Wildcard pairing of Marcos and the Argentinean Juan-Francisco Spina were knocked out of the Indianapolis Tennis Championships in the 1st RD after losing to the team of Querrey and Qureshi in straight sets, 7-5 7-6(8).
There was little between the two teams with Querrey and Qureshi taking a crucial break to secure the first set, 7-5. However, the Wildcard pair failed to allow this to affect their determination to progress in the match. Yet again the 2nd set went down to the wire, requiring a tiebreak to find a winner. The pairing of Qureshi and World No. 37 Querrey were determined not to allow the match to go to a deciding set, winning 10-8 in tiebreak, securing the match, and forcing Marcos out of Indianapolis for this year.
