Peter Lundgren's Granollers Match Reaction

Thursday, 23 October, 2008

After Marcos’ defeat to Marcel Granollers in the first round of the Davidoff Swiss Indoors in Basel yesterday, we caught up with coach Peter Lundgren to get his thoughts on the match.

“I thought he played a very good second set,” noted Peter. “ He did have some upper leg pain at the back (hamstring), some muscle pain. But he hasn’t played in a little while so it’s normal to be a little bit stiff after playing a full match. He’s fine, he’s OK.”

Peter added: “It’s great to finish a match. I think next week will be better.”

As quoted by AFP, Marcos said: “I'm not happy to lose, but it's great to finally finish one. It shows I'm back on the Tour."

Next week, Marcos will play his final ATP event of the season at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris, France.

Marcos made his debut at the event last year and defeated two Top 10 players en route to the semifinals, where he lost to World No. 2 Rafael Nadal.
