Marcos will face a qualifier in the first round of Pilot Pen Tennis next week in New Haven.
The ATP World Tour 250 tournament begins Sunday and Marcos is making his first appearance there since 2006, courtesy of a wild card into the main draw. On his debut in 2005 he lost in the first round, but improved the following year by reaching the third round.
It is a tricky draw for Marcos, with No. 12 seed Philipp Petzschner lying in wait should Marcos advance through the first round. No. 7 seed Igor Andreev is a possible third-round opponent, while No. 4 David Ferrer is seeded to reach the quarter-final. Top 10 players Nikolay Davydenko and Fernando Verdasco head the field as the top two seeds.
