After some intensive training on clay in Argentina, Marcos will be back in competition at next week’s Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, the first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 clay-court tournament of the season.
Marcos has been seeded 16th in the 56-player draw and will open his campaign against Spaniard Albert Montanes in the first round. Potential second-round opponents are Belgian Olivier Rochus or Italian Andreas Seppi, while fourth-seeded Croatian Marin Cilic, whom Marcos lost to in Miami recently, is a likely third-round opponent.
Check out the full singles draw here.
Marcos is making just his second appearance at the Monte-Carlo Country Club and will hope to improve on a first-round exit he suffered on his 2007 debut.
