The draw for the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami was made on Monday. Seeded No. 22 in the 96-man draw, Marcos has a bye through the first round and will open his campaign against either Blaz Kavcic or a qualifier.
Marcos is expected to reach the third round on his seeding and would face No. 13 Mikhail Youzhny. Should he progress, he would very likely face World No. 3 and two-time former champion Roger Federer in the fourth round.
Also in the same quarter of the draw as Marcos are No. 8 seed Andy Roddick, No. 10 Jurgen Melzer, No. 18 Marin Cilic and No. 25 Gilles Simon.

While in Key Biscayne for the second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament of the season, Marcos has committed to help raise funds for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. On Wednesday evening he will join other ATP World Tour stars, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Japan’s Kei Nishikori, in an exhibition football match against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
