Marcos had withdrawn from Winston-Salem citing personal reasons. He is training hard though and is on course to play at next week’s US Open, which takes place in New York.
Marcos will be making his eighth appearance at the US Open and is bidding to advance past the second round for the first time. He is looking to get back to winning ways after suffering consecutive first-round losses in Montreal and Cincinnati. Before that he had been a quarter-finalist in Washington.
