Marcos has been working hard in the off-season and got some encouraging results over a pair of Frenchmen at an exhibition tournament in Budapest at the start of the week.
In his first match, Marcos defeated World No. 10 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 9-8 and then won the Tennis Classics title with a 9-7 victory over Gael Monfils. Monfils had defeated Tommy Haas in the other semi-final.
“I had a great time in Hungary,” said Marcos. “The organisers are really good and made it a pleasure for all of us. It was full and the crowds made it even more fun for us.
“I enjoyed playing with the two French players, they are good guys, and watching the doubles was so entertaining.”
