ATLANTA, GA, June 3, 2010 – Marcos Baghdatis, known for his charismatic style and blazing forehand, has joined a stellar field of players set to compete in the 2010 Atlanta Tennis Championships (ATC) July 19-25.
Baghdatis, a Cyprus native and former world No. 8, made a gallant run to the 2006 Australian Open final, but fell to champion Roger Federer. Still, he won over fans from around the world with his effervescent personality and fun-loving attitude.
Baghdatis is the winner of four ATP World Tour tournaments including a win in Sydney this year at the ATP Medibank International. Baghdatis is currently ranked No. 30 on the tour.
Baghdatis joins Americans John Isner (#19 and former UGA All American), James Blake and Robby Ginepri, of Kennesaw, Ga., along with former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt, to a growing list of top players who have committed to compete in this year’s ATC tournament. The complete main draw for the tournament will be announced next week.
