Marcos will join the quality line-up at the AEGON Championships at Queen’s Club next week, after being awarded a wild card due to the withdrawal of Kei Nishikori with an elbow injury.
“We are thrilled that Marcos Baghdatis will play at the AEGON Championships,” said Tournament Director, Chris Kermode.
“He has real charisma and is one of the most talented tennis players in the world. I’m sure he will prove to be very popular with spectators at The Queen’s Club. At the same time, it’s a shame that Kei Nishikori is injured as he had a fantastic run to the last 16 last year and won a set against Rafael Nadal. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
Also playing at the prestigious warm-up event to Wimbledon are World No. 3 Andy Murray, four-time champions Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt, former World No. 1 Marat Safin, James Blake, Marin Cilic and Gilles Simon.
Marcos has played at Queen’s Club just once before, losing to Paul-Henri Mathieu in the first round in 2005.
