The Sony Ericsson Open in Miami gets underway on Wednesday and, with Marcos in attendance, the main draw was made at Key Biscayne on Monday afternoon.
In the first round, Marcos has been drawn to face Latvian Ernests Gulbis – against whom he has a 3-0 record, including a straight sets victory earlier this year in Delray Beach.
Looking ahead it doesn’t get any easier for Marcos as he would face French No. 31 seed Paul-Henri Mathieu in the second round and, should he advance, World No. 3 Novak Djokovic is a possible third round opponent. Also in Marcos’ quarter of the draw are seventh seed Gilles Simon, No. 10 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and No. 13 seed James Blake.

“It is a tough draw,” said Marcos after making the draw on Monday. “Everybody is playing great. I have Gulbis, so I have to stay focused. There is no luck; it is going to be a tough tournament.”
Stay tuned for news on when Marcos will play his first round match at the second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event of the season.
Go, Marcos!
