At the Proton Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur 2009 on Wednesday, Marcos will face Russian Mikhail Youzhny for a place in the quarter-finals of the ATP World Tour 250 tennis tournament.
Youzhny secured his place in the second round on Tuesday with a straight-sets win over seventh seed David Ferrer.
Marcos has played Youzhny four times before, with the honours even at 2-2. The Russian has won their last encounter at the AEGON Championships in June, but Marcos has won both their meetings on hard court.
The match will be played third on Center Court on Wednesday. The match before, featuring Denis Istomin against Gael Monfils, begins not before 12:30 p.m. local time (+8 hrs GMT) with Marcos vs. Youzhny to follow immediately.
