Preparation completed, Marcos opens his campaign on Tuesday at the ATP World Tour 500 hard court tournament when he faces Ukrainian qualifier Sergiy Stakhovsky in the first round. Marcos will be looking to avenge the tight defeat he suffered to Stakhovsky in their one previous match in the New Haven quarter-finals two years ago.
The match is due to take place fourth on Court 1, with play beginning at 11:30am local time (+8hrs BST; +6hrs Cyprus). Check out the full order of play here.
Marcos is making his third appearance in Tokyo, highlighted by reaching the quarter-finals on his debut in 2005 (l. to Ancic).
