Marcos will face Colombian Alejandro Falla in his first round match at the ATP World Tour Master 1000 event in Madrid on Monday. The game is scheduled fourth on Arantxa Sanchez Vicario court. The second match scheduled on the court will not start before 2pm local time, and Spain is GMT +2 hours.
This will be the first time Marcos has met Falla, who is currently ranked 123 in the world. Marcos will hope to make his superior ranking show and advance to the next round where number one seed Rafael Nadal lies in wait. The Spaniard is on a 34 match unbeaten streak on clay, so Marcos will have his work cut out if he makes it through to face him.
The Mutua Madrid Open is played on red clay and the winner will collect a cheque for €3,706,000. Last year saw Rafael Nadal overcome Roger Federer in the final.
