Marcos will open his campaign at the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters on Sunday when he faces No. 11 seed Marin Cilic in the first round of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati.
Both Marcos and Cilic are looking to bounce back from first-round defeats last week in Toronto, with Cilic bowing out to Viktor Troicki in straight sets. The Croatian opened the 2010 season in blistering form, winning two ATP World Tour titles in Chennai and Zagreb and reaching the Australian Open semi-finals. His results have tapered off slightly in the following months, but he was a finalist in Munich in May and recently advanced to the semi-finals in Washington.
Marcos is playing in the Cincinnati main draw for the first time since 2007, when he reached the third round before losing to Roger Federer in a close encounter. He will look to overturn a 0-2 losing record against Cilic, having been defeated by the Croat in Miami and in Munich earlier this season.
The match is the only main draw first-round clash to be played on Sunday and is scheduled to begin not before 7:00pm local time (midnight UK, 2am Cyprus). Check out the full order of play here.
