Marcos will begin his 2009 Australian Open campaign on Monday against Frenchman and fellow Team Lagardere member Julien Benneteau.
Getting to know…Julien Benneteau
World No. 48 Benneteau is making his sixth appearance at the Australian Open and has suffered a first round loss on four occasions. His best result was a third round showing in 2006, when he lost to Andy Roddick.
The 27 year old reached his first two ATP World Tour finals last season and finished runner-up at both, losing to Gilles Simon at Casablanca and Robin Soderling at Lyon.
He reached a career-high No. 35 in the South African Airways ATP Rankings on 21st May, 2007.
Head-to-Head
Marcos will be looking to record his first victory against Benneteau as the right-hander has won their only two previous clashes. Both came in 2006, Benneteau prevailed in five sets in the Roland Garros second round and also defeated Marcos in three tight sets in the first round of ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Canada.

The match will be played on Monday, second on Show Court 2, with play beginning at 11am (1am CET, 7pm EST). They follow a women’s singles match, so expect Marcos on at about 12:30pm local time.
