Marcos will play his first match of the 2010 ATP World Tour season Tuesday, when he takes on American Mardy Fish in the first round of the Brisbane International.
The two have met just once before, with Marcos prevailing in three straight sets in the third round of the 2009 Australian Open en route to a fourth-round clash with defending champion Novak Djokovic.
The 28-year-old Fish, who has slipped to No. 55 in the ATP Rankings, is making his return to the court for the first time since undergoing surgery on his left knee to repair cartilage damage on 28th September. His last tournament outing was a second-round loss at Pilot Pen Tennis in New Haven in August.
Before being struck by injury woes, Fish started the 2009 season at No. 22 in the ATP Rankings and reached two ATP World Tour titles, triumphing at Delray Beach and finishing runner-up in San Jose.
In one of the most eagerly anticipated first-round matches in Brisbane, Marcos and Fish will be up first on Pat Rafter Arena Tuesday, with play beginning at 10:30 am local time (12:30 am GMT, 2:30 am Cyprus).
