Marcos will look for his first victory of the grass-court season when he begins his bid at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle on Tuesday.
Up to No. 42 in the latest Emirates ATP Rankings, Marcos opens against fourth seed Tomas Berdych in a blockbuster first round encounter at the ATP World Tour 500 event. Meeting for the seventh time and first since the semi-finals in Stockholm last year, Berdych owns a 4-2 head-to-head edge. They faced off in the final here in Halle back in 2007, with the Czech prevailing.
Making his sixth appearance in Halle, Marcos will be seeking his 21st victory over a Top 10 opponent when he faces Berdych. A potential second round meeting against either Dustin Brown or Albert Ramos-Vinolas awaits, with top seed Roger Federer, fifth seed David Goffin and seventh seed Viktor Troicki the other big threats in his half of the draw.
