Marcos will get his China Open campaign underway on Tuesday when he faces Alexandr Dolgopolov in a tricky first-round match at the ATP World Tour 500 hard-court tournament in Beijing.
The 21-year-old Dolgopolov has been one of the most improved players on the ATP World Tour this season, reaching a career-high No. 39 in the South African Airways 2010 ATP Rankings in July after beginning the year at No. 131.
The Ukrainian enjoyed success on the ATP Challenger Tour in the early stages of the season before transferring his skills to the main tour with a semi-final effort in Eastbourne and a quarter-final showing in Umag. Last week he lost a very close second-round encounter to eventual champion Mikhail Youzhny in Kuala Lumpur.
Marcos has played Dolgopolov once before, defeating the right-hander in straight sets in the semi-finals of the Tashkent Challenger last year. Check out their head-to-head statistics here.
The match is scheduled to take place first on Moon Court on Tuesday in Beijing, with play beginning at 12 noon local time (5am UK, 7am Cyprus). Check out the full order of play here.
