After a three-month absence due to an ankle injury, Marcos made his long-awaited comeback to professional tennis on Tuesday at the ATP Challenger Tour event in Taipei City, Taiwan.
Marcos fell to Korean teen Soon-woo Kwon 7-5, 6-3 in the first round of the indoor hard court event, but the bigger story was his return to action and good feelings on the court during the one hour and 17 minute encounter. He fired eight aces and saved four of seven break points faced against the 19 year old from South Korea.
It was Marcos' first pro match since the Australian Open in January, when he reached the second round after streaking to the semi-finals at the ATP World Tour event in Auckland.
