One week after enjoying an impressive run to the fourth round in Indian Wells, Marcos fell in his Miami opener on Wednesday.
Marcos battled hard for one hour and 42 minutes. In the end, Jared Donaldson would prevail 6-3, 6-4. He fired three aces, but was unable to convert on his eight break chances.
With his trademark defense and determination on full display, Marcos put on a show at the Miami Open. It was an entertaining first encounter between him and the American rising star, as both players gave the Florida crowd plenty to cheer about.

Marcos celebrated a return to the Top 100 in Indian Wells and will look to continue rising during the upcoming clay-court season. He will play the ATP World Tour events in Marrakesh, Monte-Carlo, Budapest and Munich.
