Marcos sent Cyprus to the top of Pool C in a record-setting performance in Thursday's Davis Cup Group III action.
Marcos notched a 6-2, 6-0 win over Jean-Baptiste Poux-Gautier, sealing his country's victory over Andorra. It was his 34th consecutive match win in Davis Cup singles play, which breaks Bjorn Borg's record set from 1973-80. His last defeat came in 2003.
The Group III competition is held on the indoor hard courts of the Tere Tennis Centre in Talinn, Estonia. Cyprus faces two must-win match-ups in the coming days, needing to defeat Montenegro on Friday and either Ireland or Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) on Saturday, in order to advance to Group II in 2017.
