Marcos has arrived in Brisbane to play his first tournament of the 2013 ATP World Tour season at the Brisbane International.
Marcos has reached the quarter-finals in Brisbane the past two years, losing out to Andy Murray in 2012. In the first round of the 2013 edition, he has been drawn to face Australian wild card Ben Mitchell.
World No. 3 Andy Murray leads the field, with Milos Raonic, Gilles Simon and Alexandr Dolgopolov also seeded in the 28-man draw.
Marcos will also play doubles in Brisbane, partnering the defending singles champion Jarkko Nieminen. They have been drawn to play third seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah in the first round.
Main draw play gets underway on Sunday in Australia, though Marcos is not on the schedule in either singles or doubles.
