The draw for the first ATP World Tour 500 event of the year is out and Marcos will face familiar foe David Goffin in the first round of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.
It will be Marcos' sixth trip to Rotterdam and first since 2013. His best result was a quarterfinal finish in 2011 & '13.
Marcos squared off against Goffin on three occassions in 2015, prevailing at the Australian Open and in Dubai, before falling in the Wimbledon third round. It will be their fourth encounter overall, with Marcos holding a 3-1 advantage. Either Tommy Robredo or Martin Klizan await in the second round, with Roberto Bautista Agut the other seed in Marcos' quarter of the draw.
A potential rematch against top seed Richard Gasquet looms in the semis. Gasquet defeated Marcos 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the Open Sud de France in Montpellier on Friday.
