Marcos will kick off his 11th appearance at the US Open with a first-round test against Argentina's Facundo Bagnis. The match is scheduled for Monday, third on Court 6 with play beginning at 11am local time.
Marcos, who is seeking his first victory in New York since 2013, has previously never faced Bagnis. The Argentine is competing in just his second US Open and has not won a hard-court match in more than a year.
Should Marcos win, he would face either 32nd seed Benoit Paire or Serbia's Dusan Lajovic in the second round, with fifth seed Milos Raonic looming large in the third round. Other notable seeds in his quarter of the draw include No. 4 Rafael Nadal and No. 10 Gael Monfils.
Marcos is coming off a third-round finish at the Winston-Salem Open, where he notched his 20th match win of the season. He is just six wins shy of matching his total from all of last year.
