Marcos will look to build on his strong start to the season as he prepares to move onto the ATP World Tour European indoor swing.
Marcos reached the semi-finals of the Brisbane International in the first week of the season, falling to Grigor Dimitrov, before then advancing to the third round of the Australian Open in Melbourne, where he was beaten by World No. 4 David Ferrer.
Marcos and Dimitrov also teamed up in the doubles, knocking out the fourth seeds Max Mirnyi and Horia Tecau en route to a third-round showing. They were beaten on Monday in Melbourne by Colombians Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah, 7-6(6), 7-6(5).
Marcos noted throughout January the progress he has made in recent months and will look to continue his march back up the Emirates ATP Rankings when he returns to competition in February. Marcos is scheduled first to play the PBZ Zagreb Indoors, where he won the title in 2007 with victory over Ivan Ljubicic and reached the semi-finals last year (l. to Lacko). Play in Zagreb begins on Monday 4th February.
From Zagreb, Marcos will travel to Rotterdam for the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on 11th February, before competing at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in the week beginning 25th February.
