Marcos is in Zagreb preparing for the PBZ Zagreb Indoors, an ATP World Tour 250 indoor tournament which begins on Monday. Marcos has a strong record in Zagreb and is hoping for another good showing to back up his promising start to the season in Australia. Marcos won the Zagreb title in 2007 with victory over Ivan Ljubicic.
Marcos is seeded sixth in the singles draw and will open his campaign against Germany’s Tobias Kamke. He is in the top quarter of the draw, along with top seed and two-time former champion Marin Cilic. Also competing are second seed Andreas Seppi, third seed and defending champion Mikhail Youzhny and fourth seed Jurgen Melzer.
As well as reaching the singles semi-finals in Zagreb last year, Marcos also won the doubles trophy with Youzhny. They will defend their title this year and have a tough draw, opening against top seeds and three-time Wimbledon runners-up Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau.
