Marcos is through to the second round of the Delray Beach Open after defeating Jiri Vesely 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 on Tuesday in Florida.
Marcos notched his second win of the season as he fought from a set down against Vesely, who was one of the ATP’s leading rising stars in 2013. Marcos converted four of his six break points and lost only five points on serve in a dominant third set.
"I am very grateful for the life I have. I have a very beautiful wife and daughter that are healthy. I am very thankful for that.
"I am going through the toughest moments of my career right now and a win like the one today is a big boost. I am fighting every day on the tennis court to find my feet back together and I have no doubt that I will."
For a place in the quarter-finals, Marcos will face either American qualifier Rhyne Williams or Colombia’s Alejandro Falla.
