Marcos was made to work hard for his place in the Happy Valley Challenger semi-finals on Friday, battling past Aleksandr Nedovyesov 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in one hour and 40 minutes. Marcos overcame the fifth seed as he converted four of his nine break points for a strong finish.
For a place in the final, Marcos will face Australian qualifier Andrew Harris. World No. 654 Harris, 20, has dropped just one set and taken out two seeded players en route to the last four. The match is scheduled for 12 noon on Saturday.
