Marcos chalked up his 41st Davis Cup win in an impressive fashion to put Cyprus 1-0 up against Morocco. Playing in his hometown of Limassol, Marcos put on an exhilarating show, winning 6-0 6-3 6-0.
Marcos is ranked over 1000 places higher than his opponent, and the gulf in class was evident, with only three games being dropped all match. Rachidi battled bravely but was unable to match Marcos, who can now concentrate on his upcoming doubles match and his second singles match.
This win kept up Marcos’ excellent Davis Cup record and leaves Cyprus with a chance of reaching the next round where it will face either Ukraine or Monaco.
Marcos’ doubles match will take place on the 11th February and start at 14:00 hrs local time.
