Marcos begins his campaign at the BMW Open on Tuesday when he faces Germany’s Tobias Kamke in the first round in Munich. It will be the pair’s first meeting.
Marcos is seeded eighth in Munich and is a two-time semi-finalist at the ATP World Tour 250 clay-court tennis tournament. He reached the last four in 2007 (l. to Kohlschreiber) and 2010 (l. to Cilic) and has a 7-3 tournament record.
He warmed up for the event by playing in the doubles competition with Mikhail Youzhny, whom he partnered to title success in Zagreb in February. The duo were beaten 6-7(7), 6-2, 11-9 in their opener against Michael Kohlmann and Jamie Murray on Monday, though.
Marcos’ match with the No. 81-ranked Kamke is scheduled for first on Centre Court, beginning at 11am local time (12pm Cyprus). See the full schedule here.
