Marcos’ 2010 ATP World Tour season has come to a premature end after he was forced to withdraw from his final two tournaments in Basel and Paris.
Marcos suffered an injury to his right shoulder in Vienna and was advised by his physio to rest for the next two weeks to avoid making the injury any worse.
“I’m very sorry that I won’t be able to see my fans in Basel and Paris this year. I injured my right shoulder in Vienna and have been advised to rest so as not to cause any further damage,” said Marcos. “I’m disappointed that the season came to an early end, but I’m very happy with my progress in 2010 and look forward to seeing you all on tour next year. Thanks for your support.”
Marcos will now take a break before working hard during the off season in preparation for his 2011 campaign. He will open next season in Brisbane, before defending his title in Sydney, with his stay in Australia culminating in an appearance at the Australian Open.
