Marcos suffered a 7-5, 6-1 defeat to Australian Peter Luczak on Wednesday in the second round of the UNICEF Open, an ATP World Tour 250 grass-court tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
World No. 88 Luczak created six break point opportunities on Marcos’ serve in the match and was able to convert four of them as he raced to victory in 70 minutes. Marcos suffered with a first serve percentage of 39 per cent and was unable to convert the one break point he earned.
Marcos will have a few more days to prepare for the third Grand Slam of the year – The Championships at Wimbledon. He has been seeded No. 26 for the prestigious event and will await the draw on Friday to see who he will face in the first round.
