Marcos will begin his Asian Swing on the ATP World Tour with a trip to the inaugural tournament in Chengdu, China. He opens against Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta, who recently won his first title in Winston-Salem just last month.
Marcos will face the 25-year-old Spaniard for the first time. Scheduled to also play at the Masters 1000 event in Shanghai, it is his first trip to China since 2012.
A win over Carreno Busta would see Marcos face either sixth seed Viktor Troicki or Norwegian teenager Casper Ruud. Also looming in his half of the draw are second seed Nick Kyrgios and fourth seed Feliciano Lopez.
Marcos has won an impressive 12 of the last 13 first-round matches on hard courts.
