With memories of his run to the final in 2015 fresh in his mind, Marcos makes his return to the BB&T Atlanta Open next week. The ATP World Tour hard-court event is the site of Marcos' stunning final run in 2015, where he eventually fell to John Isner.
This year, Marcos is back at the US Open Series stop, ready to kick off the North American hard-court season. He opens against 22-year-old Kyle Edmund, in what will be their first head-to-head encounter.
Marcos would face either Germany's Peter Gojowczyk or Argentina's Guido Pella in the second round, with top seed Jack Sock looming in the quarter-finals. Three-time champion John Isner is seeded second and a potential final opponent.
Marcos is coming off his second ATP World Tour semi-final of the year in Antalya, Turkey, which was followed by a second round showing at Wimbledon.
