Marcos helped make the draw for the Citi Open on Friday in Washington. Seeded 16th, he has a bye through the first round and will face either Lukas Lacko or Alejandro Falla in his opening match.
Marcos is in the bottom half of the draw and could face a third-round clash with second seed Kei Nishikori. Also in his quarter are eighth seed John Isner, No. 9 Alexandr Dolgopolov and Gael Monfils.
Juan Martin del Potro leads the field at this ATP World Tour 250 hard-court tournament, which also features Tommy Haas, Milos Raonic, Gilles Simon and Sam Querrey.
Marcos is making his third appearance in Washington. He reached the final on his 2010 debut, losing to David Nalbandian, and reached the quarter-finals in 2011 (l. to Young).
