The post-Wimbledon edition of the Emirates ATP Rankings was released on Monday and Marcos made his return to the Top 50 for the first time in nearly two years.
Coming off a strong performance at the All England Club, defeating Donald Young and John Millman en route to the third round, Marcos rose six spots to World No. 48. He is back in the Top 50 for the first time since 30 September, 2013.
He will next make the trip to San Marino to represent Cyprus in the Davis Cup Group III competition, beginning Wednesday. Marcos is closing in on a significant milestone, as he is two singles victories from passing Bjorn Borg for the longest winning streak in Davis Cup history (33 straight matches). Play runs from 15-18 July on the clay of the Centro Tennis Cassa di Risparmio in San Marino.
