Marcos and Marcel Granollers will finish their second-round match at Roland Garros on Thursday after darkness caused play to be suspended with Marcos leading 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 on Court 3.
After losing the first set to his Spanish opponent, Marcos fought hard to hit back and take the next two sets and was clearly delighted with his standing in the match when he made his way off court after the umpire was forced to suspend play.
Two lengthy rain delays earlier in the day had heavily delayed the schedule on Day 4 at Roland Garros, meaning Marcos’ match began much later than anticipated.
The match between Andy Murray and Juan Ignacio Chela, the winner of which either Marcos or Granollers will play in the third round, was also carried over to Thursday after being suspended midway through the second set.
Marcos’ match will resume second on Court 3 tomorrow, beginning not before 12:30pm.
