Welcome back to Chengdu! Marcos returns to the Chengdu Open this week, one year removed from a magical run to the final.
In 2017, Marcos streaked to the championship match in just his second appearance at the ATP World Tour 250 event. That week, he rallied from a set down on three occasions and will look to replicate the impressive run once again.
It is an important week for Marcos, making his first appearance since a second-round finish at the US Open. It marks the opening week on the ATP World Tour's Asian swing, with tournaments in Beijing and Tokyo and the Masters 1000 event in Shanghai coming up next.
In the first round, Marcos will face Tunisia's Malek Jaziri. It will be their first meeting. If he prevails, a second-round encounter against Adrian Mannarino awaits. Second seed Hyeon Chung also looms in his half of the draw.
