Marcos is through to the final of the Trophee des Alpilles after defeating top-seeded German Bjorn Phau 7-6, 7-6 on Saturday at the ATP Challenger Tour event in St. Remy.
It is the second ATP Challenger Tour final that Marcos has reached this year, having captured the title at the Odlum Brown Van Open in Vancouver last month, and will be a huge confidence boost going into Cyprus’ crucial Davis Cup tie with Finland next weekend.
In the final Marcos will face either Xavier Malisse, whom he defeated in the Vancouver final, or eighth-seeded Slovakian Lukas Lacko.
