Marcos is through to the second round of the U.S National Indoor Tennis Championships, in Memphis after beating qualifier R. Ram 6-3,6.4 on Tuesday.
"Today I played pretty solid and I'm happy I won, That's all that matters at the end of the day." Marcos said.
Beating US qualifier Rajeev Ram 6-3, 6-4 to book a second-round date with Australian third seed Lleyton Hewitt.
He is currently ranked 134th in the world, has lost eight of his past 10 matches but against Ram he was lethal, firing 10 aces and dispatching his opponent in just 75 minutes
