Marcos and Juan Martin del Potro continued to enjoy success on their debut outing, defeating 2008 Australian Open champions Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday to reach the semi-finals of the If Stockholm Open.
Marcos and del Potro broke serve four times from six opportunities and won 80 per cent of points on their first serve to clinch victory in 78 minutes.
In the semi-finals they will face top seeds Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi. ‘The Indo-Pak Express’ are bidding for a strong showing this week to boost their chances of qualifying for the year-end Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. They have won one title this season, triumphing in Halle, and also reached the US Open semi-finals.
