Marcos’ campaign at the Aegon Championships was curtailed on Wednesday as he was forced to retire against Stan Wawrinka with a right shoulder injury after just five games in the second round at The Queen’s Club.
But, speaking afterwards, Marcos was confident he will be fit again in a couple of days and ready to commence training for Wimbledon.
"My shoulder was very heavy yesterday,” explained Marcos. “I had a small pinch on the shoulder. I went to the physios. They said my whole back was a bit stiff, the muscles are really tired.
“It's nothing serious. But we need two to three days to work on that and loosen everything up around that spot. It's a pity but that's the way it is.
“I played six matches in a seven days, I'm not used to that in the past year. Everything's positive. I'm feeling good. It's just a small thing I need to take care of."
