Marcos will compete at the Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur next week. The draw for the ATP World Tour 250 indoor hard-court tournament was made on Saturday, with Marcos due to face Argentine Carlos Berlocq in the first round.
Should he advance, Marcos would set a re-match with second seed Stanislas Wawrinka, whom he pushed to four sets in the third round of the US Open. Wawrinka went on to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final, knocking out Tomas Berdych and Andy Murray before losing to Novak Djokovic in five sets.
David Ferrer leads the field as the top seed. Also in contention are Nicolas Almagro, Jurgen Melzer, Dmitry Tursunov and Nikolay Davydenko. View the full draw here.
