After celebrating Zahy’s first birthday on Sunday, Marcos is contesting the Swiss Indoors Basel this week, an ATP World Tour 500 indoor hard-court tournament in Switzerland. Marcos is playing in Basel for the fifth time and has enjoyed success in the past, reaching the final on his 2005 debut (l. to Gonzalez) and the semi-finals in 2007 (l. to Nieminen).
In the first round, Marcos will face German qualifier Benjamin Becker, a veteran of nine years on the ATP World Tour. Marcos has played the 32-year-old Becker once before, winning their 2012 Australian Open meeting in straight sets.
The match is scheduled for first on Center Court on Tuesday, with play beginning at 2pm local time (+2hrs GMT).
