Marcos reached the quarter-finals of the Brisbane International on Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over fifth seed Kei Nishikori of Japan.
In the 78-minute match, Marcos broke serve four times from seven opportunities and hit 10 aces. It was his third win in three meetings with the No. 25-ranked Nishikori. He goes onto face his doubles partner this week, Andy Murray in the quarter-finals on Friday.
Marcos and Murray will return to doubles action on Thursday when they face second seeds Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner in the quarter-finals. The match is scheduled for not before 3pm local time (GMT +10hours) on Court 2. Check out the full order of play here.
